Hey,
can people check this is accurate before I send to the plumi announce
list?

Thanks
And.

Hi all,
we're happy to let you know that the next major release of Plumi is
almost ready. A second tagged release candidate is available from svn
here
https://svn.plone.org/svn/collective/Plumi/tags/plumi-0.2-rc2/

Plumi 0.2 includes a number of feature additions, bug fixes and
enhancements including

- template improvements that are plone 3 ready resulting in faster
page loads (there was some mention of zope 3 views? I'm not sure how
to write this exactly)
- improvements in large file handling, eg. video/view pages no longer
wake the object in the ZODB
- enhanced comment functionality using qPloneComments - http://
projects.quintagroup.com/products/wiki/qPloneComments
- upgraded to 2.5.4 (plone 3.x coming soon)
- transcoding from '.m4v','.ogm','.ogg','.divx' to Flash video
- full screen flash video playback using FlowPlayer
- a new design (thanks trollfot!)
- a new "callouts" content item for submission requests for film
festivals etc.
- replacement of TagCloudExplorer with Vaporisation - resulting in
much nicer tagging system
- addition of news/events/callouts and comments portlets to right nav.

You can see the change log here
http://dev.plone.org/collective/browser/Plumi/trunk/CHANGELOG.txt

And a testing site with the improvements here: http://testing.plumi.org

Once we have a 0.2 final http://demo.plumi.org will be updated. We're
aiming for a final release before the end of the year.

== Plumi Buildout ==
A buildout is now also available for Plumi 0.1-final. A buildout puts
together Zope, Plone, the third-party products and all customisations
into one package. This makes it very easy for you to get everything
up and running very quickly. (does it include plone?)

You can read more about buildouts here: http://plone.org/
documentation/tutorial/buildout

== Get Involved ==
You can find us in irc.freenode.net #plumi or via the discuss list:
http://lists.plumi.org/listinfo/discuss
There's a lot to do so we're always looking for more people to get
involved. For a list of current tickets see: http://plumi.org/report/3
