[plumi-discuss] Fwd: live stream

has this enquiry been answered?

i would say that we use mencoder within Plumi at present, which offers
thumbnail extraction. here's a clue on how to do that:
http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/mencoder-users/2007-February/005331.html

switching to use of ffmpeg (which also offers thumbnail extraction)
wouldn't be so hard, within indytube yeah?

as for live streaming.. well you'd have to set that up separately (or
additionally) i would have thought, though there is no reason why you
couldn't re-implement the flowplayer on certain templates to accept
live-streams from Red 5 (we have set this up before to handle video on
demand streaming files as opposed to progressive download).

some comments here about setting up Red 5 and Flowplayer here for live
streams:
http://community.flowplayer.org/node/854

(i'm sure there is much more documentation out there about this, should
be easy to find).

anything else to add?

cheers,
anna
