Sorry not to get back to you sooner. How are you going with this work?
I must admit, ive not touched internationalisation with plone at all
yet. 
You should be able to create PlumiSkin/i18n/plumi-<langcode>.po for you
particular lang, and have the strings translate. Are you still blocked
on i18ndude ?
anyway let us know, and we can create stuff in svn if you have a patch,
or give you access etc.
